Southampton Athletic Club under 11 athletes have had another successful winter season. Competing in the Hampshire Sportshall League.

U11 Winter Roundup:
Team Southampton under 11 athletes have had another successful winter season. Competing in the Hampshire Sportshall League. The girls team of Madison Cooper, Sarah Brown, Phoebe Wiggins, Ciara Stocks, Ellie Hodgson, Mollie Renshaw, Lizzie Payne, Ellie-Rose Francis and Holly Thurgood won once and finished second twice in the three match series, against seven other teams from across the county. They finished a very creditable second place in the league. The two boys teams of Jake Norris, Adam Jones, Kieran Apps, Jack Renshaw, Hayden Seaman, Harry Johnson, Owen Lawrence, Oliver Docherty, Harry Butler, James Brown, Toby Wilkins, Robbie Small and Eddie Jenkinson found the competition very competitive finishing in fourth and sixth places.

Eleven athletes represented the group at the recent individual Hampshire Sportshall Championships bringing home a total of nine medals. Ellie Hodgson, Mollie Renshaw, Phoebe Wiggins, Madison Cooper, Jake Norris, Hayden Seaman, and Owen Lawrence will be representing Hampshire in the forthcoming South East Region final of the Avia Fun in Athletics to be staged in Burgess Hill, West Sussex on Sunday 28th March.

Throughout the winter the athletes have been working towards a level 2 Aviva Shine Award. This is achieved by completing five activities against the performance targets - one from each of the running, jumping and throwing events plus any other two activities. The picture shows the group with their medals at the presentation evening.

The group start summer training at Southampton Sports Centre on Tuesday 6th April at 6.30 newcomers are welcome and additional information if required can be obtained from Brian Fisher.

Team Southampton had a number of athletes competing in Hampshire Colours. Hampshire U15 boys finished 1st and will compete in UK Final on 12 April at NEC in Birmingham.
