This case came highly recomended but with a reputation for being a tough run. In all respects it lived up to expectations.
Thankfully the constant rain of the day before cleared overnight to leave sunny conditons for the race. The one lap course
encompased a wide variety of conditions, mostlt offroad but with short linking sections on quiet country roads. The first
mile on a small lane was all uphill so soon spread the field out before going into the woods. There was very little flat on
the route and some of the descents were so steep that they were more difficult to run than the ups. The recent rain meant that
some sections were muddy but thankfully it wasnt the sort of mud that built up on the shoes to badly. Encouraging marshals,
frequent route signs and distance markers every mile ensured we didnt get lost. The finish was on the village cricket green
and he-hydration facilities (both alchocolic and non alchocolic) were available.
In summary an enjoyable race that I will try and do again.
