In the great South run there were a host of runners competing for the club over the two days on which the Junior, Mini and main 10 mile races were run. Highlights of the club performances included in the Mens senior race a great run from Neil Phillips who ran very strongly in the blustery and rain swept conditions to take a very creditable 18th overall placing (52 mins 15 secs) and top performance out of the representatives from the locally based South coast clubs. Gareth Klepacz also ran extremely well with a personal best time and took 38th place in the Senior race in a time of 55 mins and 25 secs.
In the junior races Louise Webb won the girls 12-15 years age group race comfortably ahead of her nearest competitor over the 2.5km course in a time of 8 mins and 49 secs, and Jamie Knapp was a close runner up in the same age group for the boys race over the same 2.5km distance. Emily Jenkinson also ran very well to take a runners up spot in the 9-11 year olds race with Mhairi- Clair Stewart (girls 12-15 years race) and Matthew Knapp (boys 9-11 yrs race) both taking top 10 places in their respective races.
