Sportshall Roundup 2007 / 2008

Team Southampton has had another highly successful indoor winter season. Two boys teams and one girls team competed in the Hampshire Sportshall league against seven other teams from across the county.
In a series of three matches the boys teams finished 1st- winning all their matches- and a very young team finishing fourth. The girls competition was a lot closer with the team winning one and finishing a very close second in the other two matches to finish second overall. Many of the team represented Hampshire in the South of England Fun in Athletics Championships organised by Norwich Union and staged at Portsmouth last Sunday. Over 230 athletes representing seven teams from Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Wight, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxford competed. The Hampshire girls finishing fourth and the boys narrowingly missing out on the top spot by three points to Oxford. The picture shows the Team Southampton members wearing their Hampshire vests with their league medals.
