Southern XC 2008 Management

Management Arrangements for the Southern XC Championships 26th Jan 2008

Email Received from Des Webb:
Can you please remind your runners of this event. We entered teams in most age groups and so would like to have athletes run where possible. I think i spoke to most of you about who to enter when the forms went in but if in any doubt please call me. Generally as we could enter 12 per team I entered the vast majority of the runners who compete "regularly".

I have prepared the attached to hand out. Please note I won't be there on the day (in india) and neither will Tim so Fi (and hopefully Bill) will be able to manage the girls teams

Regards Des

Transport – We are hoping to run a minibus for those who won’t be able to make their own travel arrangements. If not then it should be possible to arrange car sharing. If you require assistance with transport please kindly speak to your coach or team manager (or Bill Tindell -07921 337215).

Directions
The event will take place at Hampstead Heath in London (Parliament Hill). The nearest train station is Gospel Oak and if you do not want to drive all the way (there is that option but parking may be limited), then one alternative is to drive to Richmond and get a direct train to Gospel Oak (trains run every 15 mins and take 30mins). Parking in Richmond is best done just off the A316 – Turn right after Twickenham bridge into Deer park car park which is 5 mins walk to Richmond station.

Please report to your team manager on arrival (aim to arrive up to 1 hour in advance to warm up and walk the course)

Team Managers on the day:

Girls - Fiona Webb/Bill Tindell (note Des and Tim are unable to make it)
Boys - Steve Knapp, Tony Campbell, Brian Fisher
Senior men/Senior Women - John MacInnes
