A combined team of under 11 boys and girls from Team Southampton were crowned joint winners of the Wessex League.
In a highly competitive league of 18 teams from across the Wessex region, Team Southampton and Camberley could not be separated after three meetings staged over three months.
Competing under a new format called ‘Quadkids’ each team member competed in the 75 metres, 600 metres,Long jump and Ball throw gaining points towards a team total.
Within the team there were many fine individual performances with the athletes improving their personal bests throughout the season. Special mention must go to Charlie Gunson for finishing third boy overall and to Alexander Allen for setting a new Wessex league record of 1min 44.7 seconds for the 600 metres.

The under 11’s train every Tuesday evening 6.30 to 7.30 throughout the summer at the Southampton Sports Centre.
